CORRECTIVE EXERCISE AND PERSONAL TRAINING IN QUEENSTOWN

Ash

Personal Trainer at OC Health Clubs, Corrective Exercise and Nutrition Specialist

Most people don't come to OC because they need another workout. They come because their body has been holding tension, an old injury, a tight back, a shoulder that's never quite right, for longer than it should.

They've tried pushing through it. They've tried ignoring it. Neither one has worked, and over time they've stopped trusting their own body.

That's where Ashlee comes in. Using corrective exercise, she helps members navigating injuries or movement limits build real body awareness, reverse the postural strain of modern life, and train with a foundation that actually holds.

Leave feeling better than when you walked in.

A coaching style years in the making

How Ashlee found corrective exercise

Ash's path into coaching didn't start in a gym. It started in gymnastics, working with everyone from recreational kids through to competitive athletes around New Zealand. That's where her love of movement, and of watching people grow in confidence, first took hold.

Before personal training, she spent years working as a nanny, then as an early childhood teacher, and later in a health food café in South Australia. Years spent caring for people, then years spent thinking about food, shaped a coaching style that is patient, practical, and genuinely interested in the person in front of her.

In 2016, Ash competed in two bodybuilding competitions. They taught her what real health actually looks like beyond the stage, physically, mentally, and emotionally, and that lesson still shapes how she coaches today.

It's also where her focus on corrective exercise comes from. Ash works with members navigating injuries or movement limits, building the body awareness to reverse postural strain and move with a foundation that holds, inside the same OC Health House framework that guides every member's journey.

Sound familiar?

You might recognise yourself here

People managing an old injury

A shoulder that's never quite right. A back that flares up without warning. Ashlee specialises in corrective exercise for exactly this, building strength and body awareness around your limits, not in spite of them.

People stiff from sitting or on the tools

Years at a desk or years of repetitive physical work leave the same mark, tight in some places, weak in others. Ashlee helps members reverse that postural strain and build a foundation that actually holds.

People newer to strength training

Years of coaching gymnastics, from complete beginners through to competitive athletes, taught Ashlee how to meet people exactly where they are. No assumptions, no intimidation, just a clear place to start.

People who know nutrition matters but don't know where to start

Nutrition is Ashlee's other core passion. Drawing on real experience, not trends or restriction, she helps members connect what they eat to how they actually feel, train, and recover.

Precision over punishment

Ash's coaching philosophy

You'll hear this a lot around OC. Working harder isn't always the answer. Moving better is, and that starts with understanding why your body moves the way it does.

Ash's approach is built on precision. Through corrective exercise, she helps members navigating injuries or movement limits build deep body awareness, reversing the postural strain and imbalance that modern life creates.

The goal isn't to leave every session exhausted. The goal is to leave feeling better than when you walked in, with a foundation that's actually resilient. Little by little, that's how lasting change holds.

What members can expect

Coached with precision

Every session

  • Coaching built around your injury or movement limit
  • Corrective exercise cueing
  • Real-time form correction
  • Mobility and functional movement
  • Progressions that respect where your body is at

No generic structure. No pushing through pain to hit a number. Just a plan built around what your body actually needs.

Beyond the training floor

Ash believes training is only part of the picture. That's why conversations often include:

  • Nutrition habits
  • Postural patterns
  • Old injuries and movement history
  • Recovery and movement quality
  • Long-term body awareness

Yes. Nutrition is an area Ash is genuinely passionate about, drawing on real experience working in a health food cafe and her own bodybuilding competition prep.

Every OC member starts with a consultation covering goals, injury history, and movement background before any programme is built.

Her combination of corrective exercise for injuries and genuine nutrition expertise is rare to find in one coach, built on real lived experience rather than a single fitness qualification.

You don't need to figure this out alone

Most people already know an old injury or a tight back isn't going to fix itself.

The challenge isn't knowing you should move better. It's having someone who actually understands how your body moves, and why.

That's what Ashlee is here for.
