WHAT IS MOBILITY & YOGA?
Mobility & Yoga is OC Health Clubs' coach-led recovery programme in Queenstown. Combining mobility exercises, yoga-inspired movement, and guided stretching, every session is designed to improve flexibility, increase range of motion, reduce stiffness, and help your body recover from training and everyday life.
People often search for yoga or mobility classes in Queenstown because they want to move more freely, reduce aches and pains, or recover better between workouts. These sessions are built around those same goals, helping you improve joint mobility, reduce injury risk, and support long-term movement health through purposeful, guided recovery.
Recovery isn't something you do only when you're sore. It's an essential part of building a stronger, healthier body, allowing you to train consistently, move confidently, and feel your best every day.

Mobility sessions focus on the areas most people struggle with, hips, shoulders, thoracic spine, hamstrings, and ankles. By improving mobility where it matters most, everyday movement and training become easier and more comfortable.

Each session combines yoga-inspired movement with targeted mobility exercises to improve flexibility, range of motion, joint health, and overall movement quality.

Controlled movement, active mobility, and stretching help improve flexibility, increase range of motion, and reduce stiffness so your body feels and performs better.

Whether you sit at a desk all day or work with your hands, your body pays a price in tightness and restricted movement. This class directly addresses the patterns that daily work creates.

Guided breathing and mindful movement help reduce stress, improve recovery, and calm your nervous system. You'll leave feeling physically refreshed and mentally recharged.

You don't need to be flexible to start, that's the point of coming. Every position has a modification and your coach will meet you exactly where your range of motion currently is.
HOW A SESSION WORKS
Every session begins with guided breathing to calm the nervous system and bring awareness to your body. This creates the focus and control needed for better movement and recovery.
A guided yoga-inspired movement flow gently warms your body, improves circulation, and prepares your joints to move through a greater range of motion safely.
The main part of the session focuses on the areas that need it most, hips, shoulders, spine, hamstrings, and ankles. Your coach guides each movement, stretch, and breathing pattern to improve mobility, flexibility, and movement quality.
Finish with longer stretches and guided breathing to release tension, improve recovery, and help your body absorb the work. You'll leave feeling looser, calmer, and ready for whatever comes next.
HOW A SESSION WORKS
Sessions open with intentional breathing to settle the nervous system and bring awareness into the body. This sets the tone for everything that follows.
A vinyasa-inspired warm-up to raise body temperature and begin moving through the ranges you'll work in. Controlled, rhythmic, and specific to the session's focus areas.
The main section of the session, targeted mobility techniques and holds addressing the key problem areas. Your coach cues positioning, breath, and depth throughout to ensure you're getting genuine benefit, not just time in a shape.
The session closes with longer, passive holds and a final breathing sequence to fully release tension and allow the nervous system to absorb the work. You leave noticeably different to how you arrived.

"This is what grounds me. I get up in the morning, come to OC,do my thing, everybody's here. I've started my day with a win and the rest of the day I feel great."
No, and that's exactly why you should come. Flexibility is the outcome, not the prerequisite. Every position is modified to meet you where you currently are, and your coach will never push you beyond what's appropriate for your body.a
Not quite. OC Mobility & Yoga is specifically designed to complement training and address the movement restrictions that come from active or desk-bound lifestyles. It blends vinyasa-style yoga with targeted mobility techniques, more purposeful than a usual yoga class, less intense than a conditioning session.
Once or twice a week delivers meaningful results for most members. If you're training hard across other classes, one dedicated recovery session per week makes a noticeable difference to how you feel and perform. Your coach will help you integrate it into your schedule.
Getting started begins with a free consultation, a no-pressure conversation about your goals, your history, and what's worked or hasn't before. From there, we build your personalised plan across training, nutrition, and sleep, complete a baseline assessment, and get you into your first session. No guesswork, no figuring it out alone.
Yes, and you're exactly who OC was built for. Our coaches adapt every session to where you are right now, not where you think you should be. Whether you're returning after years away or starting from scratch, you'll receive the same personalised attention and coaching as every other member.
At a regular gym, you pay a fee to hire equipment, then you're on your own. At OC Health Clubs, every session is coach-led. Your trainer knows your goals, your injuries, and your history. Your programme is built around you, your progress is tracked every six weeks, and if you don't show up, we check in. That's why our attendance rate is 92%, compared to an industry average of around 30%.
Absolutely. Tell us about your injuries during your initial consultation and we'll build your programme around them. Our coaches are experienced in working with members managing back issues, knee problems, shoulder injuries, and chronic pain. Adapting movements in real time so you can train safely and make progress without setbacks.
OC offers two pathways: a Group Classes membership with unlimited coached sessions per week, and a Personal Training membership with up to three personalised sessions per week. Both begin with a 28-day programme designed to build your foundation. Pricing is discussed during your free consultation so we can recommend the right option for your goals and schedule.
We run 60+ sessions every week at our Queenstown facility, from 5:45am through to 7:30pm. Early enough for before-work training, flexible enough to fit around most schedules. Most members train three times per week. Your coach will help you find a routine that works for your lifestyle.
Yes. We'll assess where you're at and guide you toward whichever option suits your goals and schedule best, and that can change over time as your needs evolve.
