2. The Perfect Diet Doesn't Exist – But Here’s What Works

The Wrong Questions About Nutrition
Should I do intermittent fasting? Should I cut carbs? Should I track macros?
These questions are what I hear all the time in the club (our gym here in Queenstown). And while they seem important, they miss the bigger picture.
Because at the end of the day, nutrition isn’t about following trends or chasing the perfect diet. It’s about something much simpler:
How does your food make you feel?
Most people don’t know. And that’s why they struggle.
The Nutrition Strategy That Changed Everything
Seven years ago, I stopped guessing.
I started drinking the same smoothie twice a day—one in the morning and another for morning tea.
Not because I love routine, but because it works.
I know exactly how my body responds. No bloating. No energy crashes. No sluggish afternoons. Just predictable, consistent fuel.
And the more I talk to people about their nutrition, the more I see a pattern:
The ones who feel their best don’t just eat healthy—they eat with intention. They’ve figured out what works and they stick with it.
Why Most People Struggle With Nutrition
It’s not about willpower. It’s about clarity.
Most people don’t track how food affects them. They eat something, feel sluggish later, and don’t connect the dots.
They assume they need a new diet plan when, really, they just need to pay closer attention to what already works.
When you remove the guesswork, everything changes.
You stop wondering why your energy is all over the place. You stop feeling like your body is unpredictable. You stop second-guessing every meal.
The Key to Long-Term Success
Stop overcomplicating it.
Find meals that fuel you, keep you full, and make you feel great. Then repeat them.
For me, that means a dairy-free, gluten-free smoothie every morning and again for morning tea. Simple. Effective. Done.
For you, it might be different. But the principle is the same: Consistency beats perfection.
The Bottom Line
Your nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated. It just has to be consistent.
So before you jump onto the next trending diet, ask yourself:
Do I actually know what fuels me best? Or am I just guessing?
Your body already has the answers. You just need to listen.
Your future self will thank you for prioritising what truly fuels you.
